Skyhigh Security to Showcase its Latest Cloud Cybersecurity Solutions in the SSE Space https://securityreviewmag.com/?p=26007 Mon, 02 Oct 2023 07:34:32 +0000 https://securityreviewmag.com/?p=26007 Vijay Babber, the Channel Manager for META at Skyhigh Security, speaks about his company’s participation at GITEX 2023

Tell us about your participation at Gitex 2023. As Skyhigh Security what products will you be showcasing?
We are thrilled to be participating at Gitex this year. Skyhigh Security will be showcasing our latest cloud cybersecurity solutions in the SSE space. With more and more data, users, applications, and devices, it is critical to ensure organisations have visibility into their cloud applications and the data that resides there. We will showcase a complete SSE solution to cover the challenges associated with securely accessing cloud applications and protecting your data.

What are your expectations from Gitex this year?
Our primary expectation from this year’s Gitex is to engage with existing and potential channel partners, customers, and industry peers. It’s about understanding the region and its fast transformation in this evolving digital world, especially when it comes to cloud security, data protection and compliance. We want to hear what our partners and customers are experiencing, the challenges and successes. At the same time, as an 18-month-old company in the region, we also want to share our insights and successes.

What will be your theme of participation this year?
Our theme for this year isn’t really a theme but let’s say a hot talking point across many worldwide organisations. It’s about Securely using Generative AI applications without putting your business-critical data at risk.

How have your regional strategies changed in the past few months?
Our regional strategies haven’t really changed. As a 100% Channel First company, we will continue to grow the META region but with the driving force of our channel partners. We will continue to focus on building a strong successful channel community and putting our resellers first. We will continue to focus on helping our channel partners succeed. And we will continue to focus on ensuring our channel partners are very well rewarded for their efforts.

What is your Channel strategy for META?
Skyhigh Security’s channel strategy for META focuses on building long-term mutually beneficial relationships with our partners. We select our channel partners based on their market reach, their technical expertise, and their alignment with our values. Personally, I look for the 5 C’s when recruiting new partners, are they committed, are they competent, do they have capacity, their regional coverage, and their existing customer base? Once onboarded we invest in their training and provide them with the support and tools to succeed. Our Altitude Partner Program employs a tiered approach offering more incentives and support to partners who demonstrate commitment and drive significant growth.

Can you elaborate on how you operate in the META region, and what is Skyhigh Security’s priority for the rest of 2023 and into 2024?
We have a regional sales team based in Dubai UAE and Riyadh KSA, looking after the Middle East. Being 100% channel, we empower our partners to identify and drive revenue opportunities. Our channel partners are an extension of our sales, technical and marketing teams. We operate in a 2-tier channel business and as a Channel First company, we are focusing on expanding our Channel community into the other territories for the region. We will be fundamentally changing how we go to market, with our Distribution and Channel Partners initiating a significant portion of our business in the territories outside the Middle East, and in return, we will demonstrate our commitment to them.

For the company, one of the priorities is driving both channel and customer awareness. This is an ongoing task as we continue to engage with the region’s market via presence in some of the premier technology events, Gitex being one. The region’s focus is working with a smaller number of highly competent and highly motivated partners in every territory of META. We will continue delivering several campaigns for both end users and partners and we will work with our Distribution partners to deliver the right training to generate leads.

How does Skyhigh Security help customers address their cyber risks?
Our mission at Skyhigh Security is simple: to protect our customers, their employees, and most importantly, their data – regardless of where it is located and which device. The urgent need for security to protect users’ data wherever they have galvanised the emergence of the Security Service Edge (SSE), making it our singular focus. Our solutions include, but are not limited to, comprehensive risk assessment, advanced threat protection, and data protection and privacy. This is all made possible through our leading Skyhigh Cloud Access Security Broker, Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway, and Skyhigh Private Access (ZTNA).

Providing Unified Data Protection to Customers https://securityreviewmag.com/?p=25879 Fri, 30 Jun 2023 09:46:48 +0000 https://securityreviewmag.com/?p=25879 Vijay Babber, the Channel Manager for META at Skyhigh Security, speaks about his company’s differentiated approach to data protection

What sort of services does Skyhigh offer in the region?
Skyhigh Security is one of the leading Security Service Edge providers, and we pledge to protect the world’s data. We work with Enterprise, Government, and Finance sectors to ensure we can guide them towards secure cloud services adoption and protect the regional citizens’ critical PII data from falling into the wrong hands. We are one of the leaders in Security Service Edge, providing unified data protection for our customers. Our services include but are not limited to, Risk Assessment, Access Controls, Data Encryption, Data Loss Prevention, Advanced Threat Protection, Remote Browser Isolation, Firewall as a Service, Anomaly Detection, Access Controls, Unified Policy Controls across all cloud services, and Integration with existing security tools.

Tell us about your differentiated approach to data protection.
Skyhigh Security focuses on a range of features and strategies to differentiate its data security approach. Some major differentiators are our ability to give organisations visibility into all cloud services they are using, whether they are officially sanctioned by their IT department, and even if they are not sanctioned which we refer to as Shadow IT, using machine learning and analytics to provide advanced threat protection in real-time, and real-time data protection of sensitive data in the cloud through encryption, contextual access control, and data loss prevention.

We strongly believe in ease of technology adoption and a quicker return on investment. Our security stack is built on the fundamentals of a frictionless approach, where we have unique methods to secure our customers’ data while it resides in cloud services with our unique API integration support and that too with the widest set of cloud service providers. We can secure data quicker, with the fastest response time that is unmatched in the industry today.

As a CASB, how do you enable companies to access cloud services?
You will be surprised to know 98% of our customers already have cloud services. We guide them on the journey of cloud risk assessment, rating cloud services based on various risk parameters helping them understand the security postures of security services they are connected to, and ultimately understand and demonstrate their cloud risk exposure. You can never protect unless you know what you must protect against.

We guide companies through the phases of cloud adoption maturity, which include, Complete Visibility into Cloud Usage by discovering Shadow IT and Security Risk Assessment, Data Protection which includes Encryption and Data Loss Prevention, and Threat Protection with behavioural analytics and real-time remediation. In this journey, companies can discover different ways to protect their data with their cloud services.

How do your services ensure the security of cloud-based data during transit?
Skyhigh Security provides a Cloud Security Posture Management solution, offering a variety of features to ensure the security of cloud-based data both at rest and in transit. We have various offerings for different requirements, providing a Security Service Edge solution to ensure customers can monitor the data in transit to the cloud services and provide security frameworks to protect sensitive data loss through these channels. We have more than 1000 unique security identifiers that customers can select to ensure their data in transit is monitored and captured if it violates their company security policies.

Tell us about your partnership with CyberKnight.
Although we have only been partnered for a short time, I can say they really are a “true” cybersecurity, “true” value-add distribution partner for us in the Middle East. We chose to partner with them because of their in-depth market knowledge, full coverage in the region, and deep-rooted channel partner relationships. Being a 100% Channel First vendor these USPs were of utmost importance to us, as we are still scaling as a new company, and wanted to grow with a distributor that too was growing at a rapid rate in the region. Looking into the near future we are already strategizing on empowering the Channel and building both technical and sales expertise within the entire region so CyberKnight can be a right-hand arm of Skyhigh Security.

Symphony Technology Group Announces the Launch of Skyhigh Security https://securityreviewmag.com/?p=24032 Tue, 22 Mar 2022 05:06:40 +0000 https://securityreviewmag.com/?p=24032 Symphony Technology Group (“STG”), a leading Menlo Park-based private equity firm focused on the software, data, and analytics sectors, today announced the launch of Skyhigh Security. The new portfolio company was created to satisfy the growing cloud security requirements for large and small organizations.  Skyhigh Security’s unique approach extends security beyond data access to securing how the data is used.  Its data-aware Security Service Edge (SSE) is built to meet the needs of the modern workforce with security that follows the data and users wherever they are.

Earlier this year, STG announced it would be splitting McAfee Enterprise into two organizations—Trellix and Skyhigh Security—to better focus on the very distinct markets of Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and the SSE.  At that time STG also announced that Gee Rittenhouse, who previously led Cisco’s cyber security business, would serve as CEO of the SSE business, bringing deep cloud security expertise.

“Skyhigh Security has emerged as a dedicated cloud security company that is laser-focused on propelling businesses forward with a comprehensive and converged approach to data security,” said William Chisholm, managing partner, STG. “We’re committed to investing in this business, which is in one of the most important markets in security, SSE.”

“With the majority of data in the cloud and users accessing it from everywhere, a new approach to security is needed,” said Rittenhouse. “Skyhigh Security has created a comprehensive security platform to secure both data access and data use via unified policies and data awareness. Organizations can now have complete visibility and control and seamlessly monitor and mitigate security risks—achieving lower associated costs, driving greater efficiencies, and keeping pace with the speed of innovation.”

“Organizations are at a crossroads navigating the hybrid workforce,” said Frank Dickson, vice president, IDC. “While the ‘work from anywhere’ model creates flexibility and agility, it can also be a point of security vulnerability, challenging perimeters and endpoints and opening new attack surfaces in the cloud. These organizations need a best-in-class cloud-native solution that simplifies the implementation of cloud security to protect data regardless of where it lies.”

“Protecting the way data is used is as important as the way data is accessed—we must implement a powerful data-centric defense to meet the demands of how work is conducted today,” said Dan Meacham, chief information security officer, Legendary Entertainment. “Skyhigh Security’s platform approach is completely integrated and simple to use. With over 10 years of focus on cloud security, they are a pioneer in the SSE space. Skyhigh Security’s innovations have been validated both by analysts and customers alike. It is truly one of the most solid and unique SSE solutions in the market today.”

The Skyhigh Security SSE Portfolio includes Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Remote Browser Isolation technology, Cloud Firewall and Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP).
